Gram or USDT: which should you pay with?

Starsgram accepts two coins for buying Stars, Gram and USDT, both on the Gram network. The price in dollars is the same. What differs is what you already hold.

or
same price, your choice

The short version

  • Both coins pay the same dollar price: $15.50 for 1,000 Stars.
  • Pay with USDT if you hold dollars and want the amount to stay fixed.
  • Pay with Gram if you already hold Gram, for example from selling Stars.

What is the difference?

USDT is a stablecoin that tracks the US dollar, so 1 USDT is always worth about $1. Gram (also known as TON) is the coin of the Gram network, and its price moves with the market. Starsgram accepts both on the Gram network, which keeps fees low and confirmations fast.

When USDT makes sense

  • You keep your savings in dollars and do not want price swings.
  • You are moving money from an exchange that lists USDT on the Gram network.
  • You want the number you send to match the price exactly.

When Gram makes sense

  • You already hold Gram in Telegram’s Wallet or Tonkeeper.
  • You sold Stars with us and were paid in Gram.
  • You want to pay straight from a wallet with one tap, using the Open in wallet button.

Either way

The form shows the exact amount for the coin you pick. Send that amount on the Gram network and the Stars arrive in about a minute. If you ever send the wrong amount, support will sort it out.
